Self-Assessments
Other information about our class grading system can be found here and here.
To complete a Test Self Assessment. Students need to do the following on a separate sheet of paper(s) from the original test. DO NOT LOSE THE TEST, without the test, the Self-Assessment is meaningless.
Test scores are not recorded until after a Self-Assessment is returned to Mr. Voight. (for applicable tests – not all tests will utilize this process)
Test Self-Assessment Process:
1. Go through your test and identify your mistakes for each question marked wrong – use the following codes:
C – conceptual misunderstanding
E – lack of explanation
M – math error
W – word choice error
2. Write the number and language of the standard tested.
3. Outline all the mistakes and types according to each standard in number 2.
4. Using the rubric (5,4,3,2,1) identify the score you deserve for each standard and indicate why – Make sure you provide a good rationale.
5. Turn your reflection and original test in to Mr. Voight
6. Mr. Voight will return your Self-Assessment and test back to you with the appropriate score.
7. Students may then do Test Corrections or other appropriate remedies to improve their score by demonstrating an improving understanding of the standards.
Rubric for Each Standard:
5 – Far exceeds the standard (No E,C,M mistakes; minimal W mistakes)
4 – Exceeds the standard (No E or C mistakes, minimal M or W mistakes)
3 – Meets the standard (No C mistakes, minimal M, W or E mistakes)
2 – Partially meets the standard (some C and E mistakes, many M, W or E mistakes)
1 – Does not meet the standard (many C, E, M, or W mistakes)
The information on the presentation below is consistent with the procedures but is outdated in terms of the scoring scale.
